A Break

Friday, November 6, 2009

I am taking a break from adding to this blog right now. What with teaching at Bard College, composing, performing, and co-ordinating the care of my 90 year old father, not to mention overseeing the archiving and sales of my father’s voluminous artwork, I have little time to think about blogging.

But there is still plenty to see/hear here. Please click around  to the various pages and to my previous posts. There are plenty of audio files, pictures, and some video of which to avail yourself.

I’ll be back blogging eventually. Thanks for checking in.

I believe I saw you today with your father at his exhibit in Amherst, MA. I am an admirer of your father’s work. I am very curios about your music and I’m doing a little poking around on the web to find more info. I was the piano player at Antonio’s opening today. I heard that when he came to the U.S. he got interested in American music (Jazz, Woodie Guthrie, and so on). I played a couple of Bob Dylan songs, which is the Guthrie of my father’s generation, and some Jazz standards. I don’t know if he heard very much, but I played for him. I thought about the wood of the piano, the physicality of it, as I played. Inspired by your father’s dialogue with his material. Now thinking of how you work with glass, and sounds. Cheers.
