Lockwood & Frasconi: Other Glass Worlds

In the late 1960s Annea Lockwood began her Glass World project. In the late ’70s Miguel Frasconi co-founded The Glass Orchestra, inspired in part by Annea’s explorations. In the summer of 2012, Miguel invited Annea to collaborate on a new glass music concert at The Stone in New York City and together they began the project Other Glass Worlds.

Miguel has been playing and developing his glass instrumentarium for over 30 years. In this project Annea returns to working with glass as she did in her early explorations. Through many rehearsals together they discovered new and evolving techniques to bring out the unique acoustic properties of this enigmatic material called glass.
